Mets farmhand Jeurys Familia just stepped onto the hill with two outs in the eighth, of the Future Stars Game, and immediately gave up 3 consecutive doubles and two runs to the U.S. team. Yikes...
Although Familia looks huge on the hill and was definitely hitting 96, he was consistently falling behind hitters. I don't care what level you are on you DO NOT want to fall behind hitters because any player worth his salt CAN hit a fastball. If you're in the future stars game, chances are you can hit a fastball. And if you're falling behind in the count, chances are you're going to throw a fastball. I think you get my point...
Despite him getting knocked around it was nice to see him throw, if for nothing but being able to put a player to the stats/name. He's young, and I'm sure he'll end up being a good reliever at some point, but I'm just saying was not pretty watching his fastballs end up in the gap, while he struggled to get one out...
