Mets Fall to Reds 3-2 in Extras, Can Still Take Series

Although the Mets have lost 3 in a row following last night's 3-2 extra inning defeat (box score), I still remain confident they can take this series from the Reds.

Oliver Perez was much improved from his last outing against the Dodgers, going 6 innings and giving up 6 hits, walking 4, but only allowing 2 runs. Manny Acosta gave up the big blow in the 11th off the bat of Laynce Nix that ended the game.  I know I was down with the risk on Acosta, but he stink.  Iggy better get healthy fast, I'd had enough of Manny.

At the dish, the Mets had a pretty decent night in terms of producing 9 hits.  But the team didn't produce runs off of those hits.  The only Mets regulars not to get a hit were Barajas (who realized he wasn't playing the Phillies) and Jason Bay...

The Mets try to even the series tonight when they send John Maine to the hill to face Bronson Arroyo.  I remain positive, but Arroyo tends to kill the Mets...just sayin'
