In what could be a huge lift for the Mets, Jose Reyes seems to be on track to return to the team Saturday, according to Adam Rubin on twitter.
After Reyes went 2-5 at the plate and played a full 9 innings in an extended Spring Training game Tuesday, it looks as though he'll be back this weekend. Adam Rubin goes as far as to call it "likely."
Not to jinx anything here, but Reyes on Saturday would be awesome. If the team can can ride the momentum from opening day through the weekend, I think they'll be some new optimism floating around CitiField that we haven't seen since 2007 when Reyes returns.
It'll be great to see him play. It's been so long, and I've forgotten how much fun it is to watch this team when Jose is in the lead-off spot. I'm very very excited about it...
