Today at 1 pm on PIX 11 in New York, you can see the Mets take on the Tigers at Tradition Field. Accoring to Michael Baron on Metsblog, the Mets are throwing out the following line-up:
Angel Pagan, LF
Luis Castillo, 2B
David Wright, 3B
Jason Bay, DH
Daniel Murphy, 1B
Jeff Francoeur, RF
Gary Matthews, Jr. CF
Rod Barajas, C
Alex Cora, SS
Oliver Perez gets the nod, to be followed by Takahashi, Figueroa, Parnell, Sean Green and possibly Mejia.
This will be an important game for the Mets, as this is the first time, more or less, that we'll be seeing their starting line-up in it's entirety. The only differences from the opening day line-up, will be the lack of DH (and thus either Matthews or Pagan, not both) and potentially Ruben Tejada instead of Alex Cora.
I think more importantly, the Mets are looking to see improvement from Oliver Perez. Keep the strikes up, walks down, and to give up less hits than he did during his last outing. Another bad outing from Perez today, and a good one from either Figueroa or Takahashi could make the rest of camp very very interesting...
